Sucé-sur-Erdre

on foot and by car...

This great circuit to cover by car (or by bike for sportsmen) includes several stops - walks or breaks that allow to admire edges of the Erdre. The itinerary begins Carquefou, but it is possible to do it in the other sense from the Chapelle-sur-Erdre.

 

CIRCUIT :

From Carquefou, by arriving to Sucé - sur - Erdre, take on the left to the Chaîneraie in direction of The Papinière. viewpoint on the Erdre with possibility of walks to the edge of the river and in the municipal park " The Goff". Return then on the Chataîgneraie and take to the left the direction of Sucé. And 300 m further far, before the bridge, on the right, the road of Saint Mars duDésert. At 1 km, on the left, borrow the road of the Filonnière. At the beach of the Baraudière you will discover a unique view on the plain of Mazerolles, magnificent plan of water of 300 ha with walk (500 m) along the river. Returning on your, steps make a hook on the right by the beach of Doussinière, preferential picnic place and basis of canoeing. Take then the road of Sucé and cross the bridge to arrive on the delightful port of Sucé (tourist information office on the right). You will be able to rent boats, the pédalos, the motor boats for some hours or the house-boats go down the canal of Nantes to Brest. From the river, invisible castles from lands :
Port Hubert, Bel - Air, de jaille and de la Guillonnière. Go again on the port follow the direction of Nort-sur-Erdre on 3 km and on the right the road driving to the island of Mazerolles (peninsula) and to the beach of the Bézirais, important bases of wind surfing boardsParadise of the fishermen and lovers of the nature, the plain of Mazerolles is the many refuge of many birds:
ash-gray herons, buzzards of reeds, mousserolles effarvattes, and many species of ducks (maliardo, teal, souchet, Milouim, pilet. .. ). At note also its specific flora, with the malaxis paludosa, small orchid, and the droseras extremely rare carnivores in France. Make a detour by the Gamotrie (without exit) that offering a pretty view. Then return to Suck follow the direction of the Chapelle - sur - Erdre.
At 3 km, on the left, you will reach the castle of PortHubert reconstructed in 1810. The proprietor authorizes the access until the edge of the Erdre where you can finish your journey by a beautiful walk.
