| Two
big historical monuments evoke the lucky period of the
XVth century of Nantes: the imposing and stirring gothic
cathedral since
its internal restoration and the castle, one of the last feudal
realizations, that bathed waters of the Loire. It is
there that was born the Duchess - queen Anne of Brittany.
The last Dukes of Brittany lived in "princes"
in the city that they had chosen as capital of their
dukedom; they constructed a new cathedral and a new
castle - deserving prestigious palace of the luxurious
yard that they maintained then. As exclaimed later Henri
IV: " stomach Saint - gray, our cousins of Brittany were not small companions ". Around the two more prestigious Gothic structures, that are the cathedral Saint Pierre and the castle of Dukes of Brittany, has developed the medieval city. We discover the charm through its lanes fitted in pedestrian area around the place of the Bouffay and the Church Sainte Croix. Names of street evoke the ancient corporations of the Middle - age that have left place to a blossom of restaurants. It is in the beautiful days a very animated place. |

that, both haunts and exalts the memory of Nantes: Nantes
