From Parks to gardens...

PARK OF THE GAUDINIERE

Near the pont du Cens, this property fitted in the XVIII, century by rich shipowners from Nantes, the Chaunard, was partly (7 ha) repurchased in 1936 by the city of Nantes to make a public place. Situated on a hillside, the park of the Gaudinière preserves a savage and natural character.
Crossed by an affluent of the Cens, the brook of the Patouillerie, it animates around waterfalls and a coin arrogance of water that confer it a romantic note. In the spring, since 1987, the vast lawn illuminates thousands of flowers: crocuses, narcissus, spring scill, hyacinths, tulips. This garden is devoted to the presentation of more of 300 000 spring bulbs (crocuses, etc. ).
Since little, it welcomes also a collection of rhododendrons. Walkers can continue the ballad by foot by the Valley du Cens, picturesque green casting that throws in the Erdre. On some kilometers, the cour du Cens snakes gently in direction of universities where you will rejoin the most beautiful river of France. Do not forget to cross the Boulevard du PetitPort and to pass the sports complex by the left if you desire to lead well your walk.
